Professional Bio
After college at C of C, Chris Brown expanded his knowledge of the beverage industry by attending a professional brewing school and returned home to Atlanta where he worked under Eric Geralds at Gordon Biersch and took up brewing full-time. He then moved back to Charleston where he helped found Holy City Brewing.
Since then, Holy City Brewing has come a long way from their home brew system made of welded bicycle parts. It currently sits in a 20,000-square foot warehouse in North Charleston with a full bar and kitchen. Production Manager Brown hones his passion for brewing lagers and keeps 31 beers on tap all year. Brown’s creativity is evident in his extensive menu of seasonal and occasional beer. Traditional brewing methods along with experimentation and the use of local ingredients, when possible, are seen throughout the yearly portfolio of beers.
