Signal to Method LLC

Signal to Method LLC is an independent research consulting practice helping designers, owners, nonprofits, and community organizations in the built environment get more from their research investments. We provide partnership, resources, and expertise that make project research, evidence-based design, and post-occupancy evaluation more effective in real practice.

We work with design firms as a research subconsultant, with owners and clients developing research strategy for their projects or portfolios, and with organizations building lasting research capability. Services include advisory sessions, project consulting, research practice workshops, and leadership sessions. We also help teams write better RFPs, develop stakeholder engagement plans, and build research tools they can use as a lasting part of practice.

Founded by B Sanborn, a researcher, writer, and educator with over 15 years of experience across archaeology, environmental psychology, and integrated design. B serves as Board Chair of the Environmental Design Research Association and sits on advisory councils for the Center for Health Design and the American Psychological Association.
