Background
Since its inception, Lowcountry Local First's Eat Drink Local Season has been a cornerstone campaign dedicated to spotlighting Charleston's vibrant local food community. This annual initiative encourages residents to support local growers, fishers, chefs, bakers, and beverage providers by engaging in events and educational opportunities that emphasize the importance of consuming what's in season. A highlight of the season is the Chef's Potluck, now in its 17th year, which brings together over 20 of Charleston's talented chefs in partnership with local farmers, fishermen, and ranchers. Through these efforts, Lowcountry Local First continues to foster connections between the community and the local food systems that make the Lowcountry unique.
