The Royal American
Champion
Organization Overview
The Royal American has served quality food and drink since 2011, as well as consistently dishing up some of the areaās best original live music. Musical acts range from cutting edge local and regional bands to established national acts.
Located in the ā50ās era building that previously housed the āOle Charleston Forgeā on Charlestonās upper peninsula, owners John Kenney and Karalee Fallert aimed to maintain the buildingās unique industrial character as they developed The Royal American. Once known as the premier local source for commercial iron work in Charleston, the bar/restaurant feels worn in and comfortable, and takes a friendly, but no-nonsense approach to everything they do. From a large selection of old school canned beer, to chargrilled hamburgers and baked potatoes, to booming concerts, The Royal American acknowledges and honors its gritty past.
