Spread Awareness
An important element of our work to cultivate a local economy anchored in local-ownership is to educate the Lowcountry's citizens on why it’s important to choose local and influence them to do so. To remind our community of the power behind their hard-earned dollars. To inspire an economy built on relationships that matter.
Our seasonal awareness campaigns contain a curated focus on sector impact, special signature events, networking opportunities and tactical workshops. Our Champion, Catalyst and Convener members are invited to attach their brand to one of these campaigns.
Do Good Season: January - March
Celebrating the social enterprises, B-Corporations and all-around Do-Gooders in the local business community who go beyond profit to intentionally cultivate purposeful, impactful business practices. The signature event this season is the annual GoodBusiness Summit, a one-day event that convenes the best and brightest business leaders to give you the tools and inspiration to grow, prosper, and give back while connecting you with like-minded entrepreneurs.
Eat Drink Local Season: April - June
A celebration of the Lowcountry's homegrown flavors, products and the people behind them. The signature event this season is the annual Chef's Potluck and the campaign includes the annual Eat Drink Local Challenge and farmers market promotion.
Invest Local Season: July - September
An exploration of the ways we as individual citizens, business leaders and funders can consciously and equitably support our community's emerging entrepreneurs. The signature event for this season is the annual "Ready, Set, Pitch!" event, and the campaign will include our annual "Move Your Money" week to drive awareness to our local financial institutions.
Buy Local Season: October - December
A grassroots movement to build awareness for the positive community benefits of supporting local, independent makers, retail and personal service businesses — particularly during the holiday season. The signature event this season is our Meet the Makers Holiday Market, and the campaign will highlight the "Certified Local" decals in a dedicated "Shop & Dine Local" marketing campaign.
