Summary:

Lowcountry Local First (LLF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the local, independent business community. We serve more than 600 local businesses and community leaders working to transform and model a sustainable local economy.

Provide your exceptional administrative skills to support a community of innovative, local, independent businesses and entrepreneurs. The Administrative Assistant will divide their time between supporting the Local Works community and handling membership coordination and fulfillment.

The ideal candidate will be an effective first point of contact, comfortable representing the coworking space, adept at solving problems, comfortable with databases and other office technology, and at ease picking up and refining complicated systems. Applicants should consider themselves extremely organized, excited about supporting and getting to know the local business community, and ready to be part of a lean and hard-working nonprofit team.

Essential Responsibilities

Membership support (70%)

  • Create and mail monthly member welcome packets and monthly member renewal notices.
  • Diligently organize and input member data in Novi, our member database software.
  • Provide support, answer questions, and cultivate relationships with existing members.
  • Provide monthly reports on membership renewals, new members, and other member data. 
  • Other membership-related tasks as needed

Database and directory management (20%)

  • Support the organization by helping maintain information in Novi, LLF’s Association Management Software.
  • Help members with troubleshooting issues like registering, logging in, changing passwords, and updating directory profiles.

Other organizational tasks and projects as needed (10%)

  • Cover the front desk, answer the phone, greet, help us keep the coworking space tidy and operating smoothly.
  • Other administrative duties as needed (and if time allows).

Skills & Qualifications 
The ideal candidate has:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment

  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting

  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, or nonprofit financial systems

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to handle confidential financial information

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Benefits:

- Pro-rated PTO: 1 week of paid time off in year one, with increases based on tenure.
- Pro-rated PTO: 1⁄2 time pay for 15 holidays, including Dec. 24th through Jan 1st, and your birthday.
