Marketing Mindshare - Social Media Strategy

Posted By: Lauren Thiell Awareness, Community, General News,

Thank you for joining us at this month’s Marketing Mindshare with Brianna Crossley and Nicole Lennox with Pollen.

This session focused on building organic social media systems that help brands grow sustainably in 2026. Instead of chasing trends or posting reactively, the conversation centered on creating a clear, intentional content strategy that saves time, builds trust, and supports long term growth.

What’s Changing in Social Media

People are engaging more with content that feels real and helpful rather than overly polished or trendy. Posting constantly is less important than posting things that actually matter to your audience. Clear messaging and genuine engagement are starting to matter more than reach alone.

What brands already have

-Clear brand values and a strong point of view
-Real knowledge of their products or service
-Exsiting content like blogs, emails, and resources
-A genuine connection with their audience

Where brands get stuck

-No clear strategy across platforms
-Reactive posting instead of intentional planning
-Long-form content not being repurposed
-Inconsistent posting habits
-No repeatable content structure
-Unclear role for each platform
-Partnerships and collaborations underutilized

The Goal

The goal is to make social media feel more organized and intentional. Instead of posting randomly or chasing trends, brands should have a clear plan that makes content easier to create, easier to reuse, and easier to stay consistent with over time.

Step 1: Get Clear on Your Brand

Before posting, it helps to understand what your brand stands for and how you want to sound online. When your message is clear, your content feels more consistent and easier for people to recognize.

Step 2: Decide What You Talk About

Rather than posting whatever comes to mind, choose a few main topics your brand focuses on. These topics help guide content ideas and make planning much simpler.

Step 3: Pull From What You Already Have

You do not need to create everything from scratch. Content can come from past posts, customer questions, blog articles, or your own experience. This saves time and keeps messaging consistent.

Step 4: Be Intentional With Platforms

Each platform should serve a purpose. Some are better for sharing ideas, others for building trust or reaching new people. Knowing why you are on each platform makes content more focused.

Step 5: Create a Simple Content Flow

One idea can turn into multiple pieces of content. By reusing and adjusting content across platforms, brands can stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.

Social media does not need to feel complicated or overwhelming. When brands focus on clarity, consistency, and intention, content becomes easier to manage and more effective. Having a simple system in place allows social media to support long term growth instead of feeling like a constant task.
